Ottobre Sudoku and Orvokki

I did some serious sewing yesterday! Again, I just really love this issue by Ottobre.. The Orvokki shirt came together beautifully even though shirring can go horribly wrong for me at times. I think the key is to tighten the thread tension as much as possible and increase the stitch length. After shirring, steam the area with your iron and voila!
The Sudoku skirt was something else all together. I sat there on the floor and felt like was playing a serious puzzle. Then all the gathering and sewing together of the pieces, plus the adding about 10.000 miles of ruffle to the hem took some time. But hey, it was SO worth it.
The skirt has some serious twirl and when Romy saw her new outfit this morning she litterally lit up!

All the fabric but the uni color knit, can be found in my shop. For Romy size 104, I need about 1/2 a yard per color.

That is a beautiful skirt, Yvonne! I imagine it must be lots of fun playing with fabric like that. This skirt comes rather close to quilting, and I haven't really dared trying that yet, but sooner or later... ;) Lovely twirl!
