A store wide SALE and a Vacation announcement

I am having a store wide sale from 8/28/09 through 9/04/09. Everything is 10 to 30% off! All Hilco fabrics are 30% off. Mamu Design patterns are 30% off, Heather Ross's Far Far Away is 10% off... etc. That's pretty darn good sale!!

The shipping on your next orders will be a bit delayed however. I decided on the spur of a moment to drive down to San Francisco to visit with my family there. One very last trip before scholl starts in WA as well. Shipping will resume on 9/04/09 :)

Cheers!

More Projects

A few weeks ago I was browsing etzy and came across Bake it pretty and fell in love with these cup cake toppers.

How could you not right??! And because it was my Birthday, I bought them. I knew I wasn't going to decorate cup cakes with these little beauties but I wanted to create shadow boxes with them. Do you know the I Spy books? Personally I love, love the pictures and the creativity that it takes to create the scenes. My little shadow boxes remind me of the I spy books.

Hi Ho. They are on their way home.

And a little snowy, winter scene

These kept me occupied for a little while. They are hanging pretty in our dining room now and make me smile every time I walk by :o))

I also finally got around to try this project. And wow it involves fabric. Fabric scraps I have from floor to ceiling and I am always looking for projects were I can use them . So I sewed the little birds and loved the little birds. With good faith I started to group them and glue them to their destination on the sticks.... I even thought about how to balance the mobile. It drove me "insane!!!!!!"

No matter how I tried and I had to try many, many times... Which included lots of hot glue and now sticky and (now) not so cute birds... The mobile just didn't want to come together. The birds make everything collapse. So for now there are only 4 sitting on one stick hanging from my wall. Sometimes you just have to step away... But if anyone knows how to construct a mobile or has done this particular project with success, please share your knowledge :) I really do love the idea of having one hanging in my living room.

I haven't been sewing

It's been about 3 weeks since I last turned my sewing machine on. Not because I have nothing to do. I have 3 UFO's (unfinished projects) laying about and I am toying with a skirt idea for myself.. Well, anyway, I have been too busy with other ideas.
I have finally, finally found the courage to play with some fabric designs. I have been sketching in my sketchbook and painting... It is quite an undertaking because this takes me much longer than sewing ( I am waayyy too critical with myself) and my children have been complaining. While they are complaining and I try to tune out the truly unnecessary whining (I do do a lot with them) I came up with these designs.

I did this one in 3 colorways. I know it is not original to use deer and toadstools, but I just cannot help but still love the combination.

Funny Birds on a wire.. I can't wait to see it printed!!

This last one is my entry for Spoonflowers Christmas contest. No matter if this is a winner or not, the Saint Nickolaus makes me laugh and I can see it being a fun fabric :)

I have many more ideas floating in my Noggin and I honestly cannot wait until school starts again for the children. To have time to practice, get better and more productive... I hope! :)
