And we are off on a new adventure

... With chickens! On Tuesday morning we got the call from our local post office that our chicks had arrived. Ella and I rushed to the office and entering, could already hear the chirping in the back! We carefully removed the top of the box when we got home and finally met our baby girls.

We checked that they were alright and placed them in their new, warm home (our unused bathtub downstairs). I made sure they new how to drink and eat from the feeder which they all did beautifully.
Amazing at just 36 hours old! The children and I have not been able to stop admiring them and in the short time that we've had them can already tell their personalities : )

In just a few days their feathers will emerge and we'll have to build a mini roost for them so they can learn to roost pretty. When they are 5 to 6 weeks old they will live in this fancy coop which will go into this awesome run that my brother build for us (chicken wire still needs to go all around). Fancy diggs huh?

Seeing that the little girlies will change so very fast I must go now and enjoy the fluffy, fluff balls : )

P.s: Chick Days, is the best guide ever on raising and keeping chickens! I have read a lot of books but this one truly takes the cake!
Also if you would love an amazing chicken barn, coop and live in the Seattle area you can have one build from here!
